A Belated Happy Kwanza!!

The holidays have come and gone.

Now that is stating the obvious.

But there I go mentioning the "holidays." Who started that? Has anyone you know actually been offended by an Atheist, Jew, Pagan or American Muslim? No. It's Merry Christmas!

Kwanzaa. This quasi holiday was actually created in 1966. Yes, 1966. Can we take any holiday seriously that was created during the reign of the Beatles? Don't believe me? Take a look at the official website at http://www.officialkwanzaawebsite.org/ It is a holiday for those of African origin. Talk about racist. The other religions of the world are multiracial since, as we all know, the skin color doesn't matter to God.

Did you know the creator of Kwanzaa placed the "holiday" to occur right after Christmas to avoid the commercialism of the season. Nice thought. But try a search in at google.com for Kwanzaa gifts and see the hypocrisy kick in. At least we American Christians are honest about the gift giving. Of course, the fact that it falls on the heels of a Christian holiday is about as cheesy as......umm...... Chrtismas falling on the heels of the Pagan celebration of the Solstice.

All that aside, it is a beautiful observance once you take a look at it. Does it bring some good qualities to the fore? Yes... But mainly it is an event masquerading as an African holiday. I don't think it is celebrated in Nigeria, Egypt of South Africa or any other African country for that matter.

But there is a lot to be said about my Christmas, which was beautiful.

But that is another story I will dive into later.
